Pretty flowers

I bought a duvet cover at a local thrift store this weekend. I knew it had some kind of comforter in it but when I got it home and stripped off the cover to wash it, I found a nice little quilt inside. I know nothing about quilts but I know I love this one. :)

Just wondering if anyone can tell me something about the pattern and when it was popular? It's definitely worn on some of the appliques and some are torn. The edges are definitely worn and you can see some of the white batting at the edges. I would prefer to call it well loved!

I'm just wondering if anyone has any ideas on how long this pattern has been around. It definitely has a very vintage feel to it.

The material used appears to be red (burgundy) dark green and some kind of peach colored gingham. The red and green have identical print, what appears to be oak leaves and a star to the right top of the oak leaves. The print on the colored fabric is solid black. It appears to be handstitched, as some of the stitching is not completely uniform. Every other square is what my friend calls white on white blocks with some kind of peony or rose flower and another kind of flower. At any rate, I think its charming...

Name this quilt NEW
by: Helen

It has been a few years since this quilt was posted but I just looked on a regularly used website for block ideas ,, as it was posted in 2018 , I also believe this is the Carolina Lily , The Carolina lily shows the flower on four points and this one shows three ,, however if you check out the block , it will show you some that have been made with this block and there is one with not only the Carolina Lily with four points but on the same quilt there are some with three points .. If you want to see it the link that I use a lot of times for great ideas and block patterns is "quilterscache.com" Beautiful pattern and beautiful and well loved quilt .

I believe this is a variation of Carolina Lily. It was popular over 100 years ago, as it is now here in the Appalachian Mountains.

Interesting
by: Mary

I THINK it's a Mountain Mist pattern that came printed on the backside of the wrapper around the batting but I'm not positive. I THINK it's around here somewhere but a quick search didn't locate the pile of quilt patterns. Hope this helps and gives you a direction to look in. I'll keep an eye out for the pile.

Such a pretty quilt.

I don't recognize the pattern, but perhaps a visitor will.
